Interpersonal Emotion Regulation
Emotion regulation isn’t just an individual effort, people often rely on others for support. EMBeR Lab investigates how we use close relationships to manage emotions, the strategies involved, and what makes some people more effective at helping than others.
Motivation
Human behavior is guided by two systems: one that responds to rewards and another to threats. EMBeR Lab explores how people react to positive and negative experiences in daily life, social settings, and close relationships.
Close Relationships
Relationships—especially those with close others—occupy a central role in human life. At EMBeR Lab, we study key relational processes such as attachment and perceived partner responsiveness to better understand what makes relationships satisfying and supportive.
